Job description

MHI RJ Aviation Group (MHIRJ)is the merging of two important heritages: Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) and the CRJ Series program. Weprovide comprehensive critical operational, engineering and customer support solutions including maintenance, refurbishment, technical publications,marketingand sales activities for the global regionalaircraftindustry.

Wereseekingveteranswith(military)aircraftinspector experienceto join ourteam.We will train individualstobecomeaQualityInspector oncivilianregionalaircraft.

Purpose of the role:

MHIRJs network of service centers, support offices and parts depots are positioned in important aviation hubs in the U.S.TheMilitary Veteran - AircraftQuality Inspectorperforms inspections of aircraft, engines, parts, and components using precision tools, equipment, and other materials in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements and is responsible for ensuring all airworthiness quality requirements are performed and documented in accordance with all applicable regulations regarding maintenance, preventative maintenance, repair and alteration of aircraft, engine, and aircraft components/parts for which the Repair Station is rated.

Here are the daily responsibilities ofaMilitary Veteran AircraftQuality Inspector:

  • Conduct weighingproceduresin accordance withcustomers recommended practices and procedures.

  • Uponaircraft(A/C)arrival, obtain associated documentation, complete A/Crecordsand document receipttoperformincoming inspections.

  • Coordinate inspection activities in compliance with computer tracking maintenance programs.

  • Upon receipt, perform inspection of all new, repaired, and rebuilt parts/components for evidenceofphysical damage, count, and conformity.

  • Ensure all work packages (orders and forms) as well as records of arrival, maintenance and corrective actions performed, are documented accurately and that all specializedcustomer(RED, RFE & SRPSA) and regulatory paperwork (FAA, FAR/CAA, etc.)iscomplete andrequiredapprovals have been obtained.

  • Researchaircraftdrawings and technical data (i.e., REO, EINO, EO,EA)

  • Perform walk around inspection ofaircraftfor release from maintenance.

  • Perform return to service process and ensure assignedaircraftmeets all airworthiness requirements prior to return to service.

  • Provide data to customers as requested.

  • Train, coach and mentor technicians and other inspectors in the performance of duties in area(s) of qualification

  • Assistwith research activities.

  • Perform conformity inspections.

  • Conductinternalproceduralaudits

  • Perform research functions, includingaircraftrecordsresearch,aircraftconfiguration assessment and maintenance requirement determination based on research.

Here is what isrequiredto succeed:

  • Minimum of2 years (asidentifiedon DD-214 or equivalent)ofexperienceinmilitary aviation maintenance, specificallyas one of the following:

  • NavyCollateral Duty Inspector

  • Air Force Quality Assurance(QA)Inspector

  • Marine Corps' Collateral Duty InspectororQualityAssurance (QA)Inspector

  • ArmyQuality Assurance (QA) Inspector orTechnicalInspector

  • Coast Guard Collateral Duty Inspector or Quality Assurance (QA) Inspector

  • Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license.

  • Have a working knowledge of special tooling and machinery used in detail inspection.

  • Havea working knowledge ofaircraftpart fabrication process.

  • Ability to calculate tolerances using specialty / calibrated measuring devices.

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering documents.

  • Ability to use and interpret a variety of precision measurement instruments and special tooling.

  • Mustbe able to pass hearing and vision tests.
