Cristek Interconnects, LLC, a Qnnect company, is headquartered in Anaheim, CA, with divisions in Minden, NV and North Billerica, MA which specializes in contract build-to-print cable and harness assemblies for military product. Cristek is a preferred supplier to several major military and aerospace prime contractors. Cristek has consistently earned the trust of its customers by combining solid interconnect design and manufacturing expertise with a "can-do" entrepreneurial spirit. As a result, they have earned numerous industry and customer awards. Cristek is now looking for the newest member of its team.


GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

ย Working as part of the Quality Assurance team, the Quality Inspector will play a key role to ensure that cable and harness assemblies meet quality standards, industry regulations, customer specifications, IPC-620, J-STD and Cristek Best Practices. This role will report to the Quality Manager. This role involves inspecting materials, components, in-process and finished products, identifying defects, and ensuring compliance with quality control procedures. The Quality Inspector will collaborate with Production, Sales and Engineering teams to maintain product integrity and improve processes. The ability to perform effectively in a manufacturing environment while meeting delivery schedules and customer requirements is critical to this position.


Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Read and comprehend, in English, the customer Drawings, Parts List, Wire List, Processes, Specifications, and assembly Routers for step-by-step instructions on how the cable assembly was built, in order to prepare for inspection.
  • Inspection: Conduct in-process, pre-mold, and final inspection on various electronic cable and harness assemblies in ย ย ย ย ย accordance with Cristek, customer and industry standard quality specifications.ย 
  • o Use magnifier lamps, and microscopes to assist with inspection requirements.
  • Measure the cable assembly (using calipers, tape measures, rulers, protractors, etc.) and verify and record compliance to above listed documents.
  • Perform 100% inspection on every cable assembly.
  • Review documentation for completeness and accuracy prior to forwarding to the next department.
  • Complete Final Inspection Data Sheet for every cable assembly.
  • ย Perform receiving inspection on vendor purchased material (as required).
  • First Article Inspection (FAI): Conduct initial inspections on new products to ensure they meet customer drawing, parts list, and specifications.
  • Troubleshooting ย & Recommendations: Identify and report recurring quality issues and collaborate with Sales, Engineers and Production teams to implement corrective and preventive actions.ย 
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized inspection area.ย 

Requirements

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical certifications in quality control or IPC standards are a plus).
  • J-STD Certification is required
  • IPC/WHMA-A-620 Certification is requiredย 


ย REQUIRED SKILLS/WORKING CONDITIONSย 

  • ย Minimum 3 years experience in electrical cable and wire harness inspection, manufacturing, or quality assurance.ย 
  • ย This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
  • Must be fluent in reading, writing and speaking/understanding English.
  • Must be able to pass Visual Acuity requirements (color, depth perception and field of vision).
  • Must be able to work under a microscope for inspection purposes.
  • Must be able to pass Manual Dexterity requirements (handling small parts effectively)
  • Must be able to use and understand how to read measuring devices (ruler, tape measure, caliper, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of IPC/WHMA-A-620 and J-STD standards for wire harness assembly.
  • Perform a number of complex, sometimes repetitive, electro-mechanical assembly inspections of wire harnessing parts, components and subassemblies.
  • Must possess sufficient hand and upper body strength and gross motor skills to route cable bundles of various sizes, lengths and weights (cable assemblies regularly weigh more than 5 lbs. and some exceed several hundred lbs. and need to be moved around on large wooden spools).
  • Must be able to demonstrate Technical Literacy (ability to read and accurately interpret wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, Parts Lists and blueprints or demonstrate the ability to learn this process).
  • Must be able to sit for sustained periods of time (3-4 hours at a time).
  • Must follow strong safety standards.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to work as part of a team.
  • Basic computer skills for documentation and report generation.
