Job description

Basin Industries (Sturgis, MI)
The Quality Inspector utilizes quality control systems to ensure continuous production consistent with established standards, customer specifications and production goals. Successful candidates are expected to comply with the general attendance policies. Successful candidates are expected to comply with all safety policies and procedures.
Essential Duties

  •  Partner with team leaders and supervisors to develop plans that improve productivity and reliability.
  • Assist with on-line quality control training. 
  •  Audit and enforce the use of inspection check sheets and procedures. Do customer required first piece paperwork.
  •  Other duties as assigned.
  • Conduct inspections for quality in all departments to include: improper welds, loose/missing hardware, paint defects.
  • Maintain ISO standards and train others to ISO standards. 

Other Duties

  • Clear and immediate communication to appropriate personnel of necessary concerns related to product development and production; providing guidance and support as appropriate.

Minimum Experience And Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma/GED
  • Experience: 2 year(s) required in Manufacturing.
  • 1 year(s) required in Quality Inspection.
  • CMM Operator Experience a plus but not required.
  • Ability to read and interpret Blueprints
  • Able to read a Tape Measure
  • Basic Computer Skills
