Job Title: Quality Inspector

Job Description

The Quality Inspector supports first article inspections using 3D arm, laser tracker, and conventional measurement methods, performs production first part checks, and communicates inspection results clearly with manufacturing, programming, and engineering teams. This role also conducts production final inspections before processing, inspects supplier products, and verifies complex assembly quality to ensure compliance with OEM specifications and internal standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform first article inspections using 3D arm, laser tracker, and conventional inspection tools to verify part conformity.
  • Conduct production first part checks to confirm setup accuracy and validate manufacturing processes.
  • Complete production final inspections before parts move to subsequent processing steps to ensure quality requirements are met.
  • Inspect supplier products upon receipt to confirm they meet specified quality and OEM standards.
  • Carry out complex assembly inspections, verifying fit, alignment, and compliance with engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine inspection requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Apply OEM specifications and quality standards during inspections to ensure consistent and compliant output.
  • Use Enovia 3D Viewer to review models and technical data supporting inspection activities.
  • Utilize Discus FAIR software and Net-Inspect to document, manage, and report first article inspection results.
  • Communicate inspection findings, nonconformities, and recommendations clearly to manufacturing, programming, and engineering teams.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues and support continuous improvement of inspection processes.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records and documentation in applicable systems, including Global Shop when required.
  • Follow established quality control procedures and inspection workflows to ensure repeatable and reliable results.
  • Support adherence to safety, quality, and operational standards within the inspection area.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of aviation quality inspection experience.
  • Hands-on experience using 3D arm measurement equipment (such as FARO arm) for dimensional inspection.
  • Ability to perform inspections with laser tracker equipment or a strong foundation to learn laser tracking methods.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
