Job description

The Quality Inspector - Advanced Metrology ensures products meet customer, regulatory, and internal quality requirements through effective inspection, measurement, and documentation practices. This role serves as Overlook's primary resource for Coordinate-measuring Machine (CMM) and vision system technologies, supporting the development and execution of advanced measurement programs while performing incoming, in-process, and final inspections. The position partners with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality teams to resolve quality concerns, improve inspection processes, and support the site's growing metrology capabilities.
What You'll Do:
  • Verify incoming, in-process, and finished products meet drawing, specification, and customer requirements through visual, dimensional, CMM, vision system, and traditional inspection methods.
  • Serve as the site's primary resource for CMM and advanced metrology activities by developing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and executing measurement programs that support accurate, repeatable product verification.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T requirements, and customer specifications to determine inspection methods and acceptance criteria.
  • Document inspection results and maintain quality records that support traceability, compliance, and timely decision-making.
  • Communicate inspection findings and collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to resolve nonconformances and improve manufacturing processes.
  • Perform incoming material inspections, process audits, and verification activities to support compliance with quality system requirements.
  • Identify nonconforming material and follow established processes for containment, quarantine, disposition, and rework verification.
  • Support calibration, continuous improvement, and other quality initiatives while maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Perform inspection activities in both manufacturing and ISO 7 cleanroom environments.

Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of experience performing quality inspections in a manufacturing environment.
  • 1-2 years of experience programming and utilizing CMM and/or vision inspection systems, or equivalent hands-on experience with advanced metrology equipment.
  • Experience using precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, gauge pins, indicators, and other inspection tools
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, datum structures, and tolerance requirements to develop effective inspection methodologies and measurement programs.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently
