The SR400 Express Lanes Project is a transformative $4.6 billion infrastructure initiative led by SR400 Constructors, a 50/50 joint venture between Flatiron Dragados and ACCIONA. Commissioned by the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) and Georgia State Road Tollway Authority (SRTA), the project will add two 16-mile express lanes from Sandy Springs MARTA Station (Exit 5) to McFarland (Exit 12), enhancing mobility along one of Georgia's busiest corridors. With a peak workforce of over 500, the project also includes dedicated bus rapid transit stations and key bridge refurbishments. Construction is set to begin in late 2025, with substantial completion anticipated in 2031. The Quality Inspector ensures construction components meet project plans, specifications, and quality standards. This role involves conducting daily inspections, tracking material approvals, and coordinating with QA teams and Authority inspectors. The inspector verifies testing procedures, identifies quality issues, and collaborates with the construction team to remediate deficiencies. They maintain documentation in the EDMS, contribute to improving quality processes, and ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards. Strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and coordination abilities are essential for success in this position. Job Description Responsibilities Ensure construction components conform to project plans, specifications, and quality standards. Conduct daily inspections and testing as per Inspection Test Plans (ITPs). Coordinate with QA teams and Authority inspectors to minimize disruptions. Prepare daily quality reports that document inspections and material approvals. Verify inspection/testing activities are conducted with calibrated equipment and certified personnel. Identify and track quality issues, deficiencies, and nonconformance items. Work with the construction team to remediate deficiencies and document corrective actions. Continuously improve procedures, checklists, and quality control measures. Assist in reviewing construction methodologies for compliance with codes and standards. Participate in Punch List Walk-Throughs to identify quality concerns. Maintain inspection and testing records in the Electronic Document Management System (EDMS). Notify management when quality standards or work methods appear inadequate. Required Skills and Competencies Skills Required: 3 years of infrastructure construction experience as a construction quality inspector, field engineer and/or lab technician in the relevant discipline/activities to be inspected Experience as a construction quality inspector or lab technician on at least one transportation infrastructure project Familiar with ACI, ASTM, and any applicable standard College Diploma required Strong understanding of construction quality standards, compliance, and testing procedures. Ability to identify deficiencies, track nonconformance issues, and document corrective actions. Assess and remediate construction quality issues efficiently. Work closely with field engineers, superintendents, and inspectors. Familiarity with project drawings, specifications, ITPs, and material approval processes. Ability to review test results, generate reports, and contribute to process improvements. Maintain accurate quality records and coordinate inspections effectively.
