The Manufacturing Quality Inspector is responsible for monitoring, inspecting, and testing materials, parts, and finished products to ensure they meet strict company quality standards and safety regulations. This role involves conducting visual inspections, using precise measuring equipment, and documenting data throughout the production process to prevent defects and ensure customer satisfaction.
Key ResponsibilitiesIn-Process & Final Inspection: Conduct physical and visual inspections of raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished products against blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications.
Measurement & Testing: Utilize precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, height gauges, thread gauges, or CMM machines) to verify product dimensions and tolerances.
Defect Documentation: Identify, segregate, and document non-conforming or defective materials. Raise non-conformance reports (NCRs) and tag parts to ensure they are not used in production.
Process Audits: Audit assembly lines and manufacturing processes to ensure operators are following standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality plans.
Data Entry & Reporting: Accurately log inspection results, test data, and pass/fail rates into the companys Quality Management System (QMS) or ERP software.
