Job description

Job Title: Quality Inspector

Job Description

Join our team as a Quality Inspector on the 1st shift, with flexible hours from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm or 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. You will play a crucial role in maintaining the high standards of our products by using advanced tools and equipment to ensure precision and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Use profilometers to check surface finish and record results on designated forms.
  • Operate microscopes, micrometers, and roundness gages, and accurately record results.
  • Inspect parts from operator's machines using various gages including air gages, concentricity gages, plug gages, dial bore gages, and drop indicators.
  • Report any non-conformances to the Quality Manager.
  • Interact with production personnel and members of management as needed.
  • Perform special quality tasks and reporting as needed.

Essential Skills

  • At least two years of related quality experience in a metals environment.
  • Experience in measuring parts.
  • Proficiency in computer skills including SPC Charts.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to use basic instrumentation such as micrometers, calipers, gauges, and profilometers.
  • Ability to read blueprint dimensions and a basic understanding of GD&T.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Knowledge of roundness gages, air gages, concentricity gages, plug gages, dial bore gages, and drop indicators.
  • Experience from a grinding or precision machining back ground.
  • CMM Experience, preferably with ZEISS.
  • Experience working with very tight tolerances.
  • Understanding of GD&T symbols, blueprint reading, and common quality instrumentation.
