Requirements

Position Summary: The Quality Technician assists the Quality team with implementation of company-wide operations procedures and process to support the overall Quality Assurance plan. This role support Quality improvement throughout the shop floor and within the team concept. Participate as cross-functional team member within assigned goal-oriented team responsibility.ย 


Responsibilities:

  • Inspection of incoming materials & components, ABEC manufactured items, and assembled systems in order to ensure conformance to established quality standards and all related quality documentation requirements.
  • Conduct in-process inspections and prepare reporting documents as required during manufacturing.
  • Conduct "Walk Downs" of systems using the Job Data file to ensure completeness and accuracy of data.
  • Involvement as requested during Pre-FAT activities.
  • Final Inspection of Vessel & Systems for approval of packaging/crating of equipment.
  • Conduct various administrative functions as required in support of Quality Department activities.
  • Assist in controlling & maintaining test equipment and calibration of test equipment within ABEC.
  • Filing of project-related and Quality Department documentation.
  • Assist in the auditing of project Turnover Packages (TOPs).
  • Interaction with customers and vendors as needed.
  • Physical inspection of manufactured parts to verify conformance to design drawings and related specifications (material, dimensional, surface finish, etc.).
  • Ensure accurate and complete receipt of all required quality-related documentation.
  • Travel to other ABEC facilities, vendor locations or customer sites as required to support Quality Department activities.
  • Follow all safety rules and policies.
  • Execute other tasks as assigned.
  • Will play an active role in identifying and driving Continuous Improvement (CI) opportunity.


Qualifications:

  • HS Diploma minimum, Associate Degree in a technical field preferred.
  • 3 years post graduate work in a related field or function.
  • Certified Quality Inspector, (CQI) / Certified Quality Technician (CQT) preferred but not mandatory.ย ย 
  • Awareness of and prior experience with implementing Continuous Improvement (CI) a plus.ย ย ย 
  • Prior Lean/Six Sigma experience a plus.ย 
  • Necessary to be able to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Travel may be required.
