Job Summary

We are seeking a Paint Quality Inspector to join our production team. This position is responsible for inspecting painted and powder-coated products to ensure they meet company quality standards, customer specifications, and production requirements. The Paint Quality Inspector plays a critical role in identifying defects, verifying coating quality, and supporting continuous improvement throughout the paint process.

Primary Job Responsibilities Include
  • Inspect painted and powder-coated components for appearance, coverage, adhesion, and overall finish quality.
  • Verify coating thickness using approved measuring equipment.
  • Identify coating defects including runs, sags, orange peel, fisheyes, pinholes, scratches, contamination, and incomplete coverage.
  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections.
  • Approve or reject parts based on quality standards.
  • Document inspection results.
  • Communicate quality concerns.
  • Assist with corrective actions.
  • Verify masking, labeling, and part identification.
  • Maintain inspection equipment.
  • Support continuous improvement.
  • Follow safety and quality procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Manufacturing quality inspection experience preferred.
  • Paint or powder coating inspection experience preferred.
  • Ability to identify coating defects.
  • Experience with thickness gauges, calipers, and inspection tools.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to read work instructions and specifications.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and on a team.
  • Overtime/weekend availability as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Manufacturing or metal fabrication experience.
  • Knowledge of powder coating and industrial paint processes.
  • Experience with quality documentation.
  • Lean Manufacturing experience.
  • Fast-paced manufacturing experience.
  • Commitment to workplace safety.
Physical Demands
  • Frequent standing and walking.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, and twisting.
  • Manual dexterity for inspections.
  • Ability to distinguish colors and surface imperfections.
Working Conditions
  • Non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment.
  • Exposure to paint operations, powder coating processes, machinery, and elevated noise.
  • Occasional exposure to paint materials while wearing PPE.
  • Occasional to frequent overtime
