CNC Quality Inspector - First Shift

Location: West Chicago, Illinois (Approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes from the city of Chicago)
Schedule: First shift 6:00am - 2:30pm, full-time, Monday - Friday
Pay: $22.00-$25.00 per hour, based on experience
Overtime: Available as production needs require


Position Summary

Tomenson Machine Works is seeking an experienced CNC Quality Inspector to inspect precision-machined hydraulic manifolds and related components. This position is responsible for in-process, and final inspections to ensure parts meet blueprint, tolerance, and customer requirements.

The ideal candidate has 1-3 years of inspection experience in a CNC machining environment and is comfortable working directly with machinists and production supervisors to identify and resolve quality issues.


Responsibilities
  • Perform in-process, and final inspections on CNC-machined hydraulic manifolds and components
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, tolerances, and inspection requirements
  • Inspect dimensions, hole locations, port details, threads, depths, and critical machined features
  • Use micrometers, calipers, height gauges, bore gauges, depth gauges, pin gauges, and thread plug gauges
  • Verify that parts meet print and customer requirements before moving to the next operation or shipping
  • Complete inspection reports and accurately record measurement results
  • Identify and document nonconforming parts
  • Communicate inspection findings clearly with machinists, supervisors, and quality personnel
  • Help investigate dimensional problems and support corrective actions
  • Maintain inspection equipment and a clean, organized work area
  • Follow all company quality and safety procedures
Qualifications
  • At least 1 year of CNC machining or quality inspection experience
  • Experience inspecting precision-machined componentsย 
  • Strong blueprint-reading skills
  • Proficiency with common precision measuring instruments
  • Ability to understand dimensional tolerances and inspect detailed machined features
  • Strong attention to detail and accurate recordkeeping
  • Ability to work independently and manage inspection priorities
  • Dependable attendanceย 
  • High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with GD&T
  • Experience with inspection reports and nonconformance documentation
  • Experience working in an ISO-certified manufacturing environment
