Job description

Description:

Innovative Aerosystems is seeking a Quality Inspector to support incoming, in-process, and final inspection activities while ensuring compliance with company, customer, and regulatory requirements. This position is responsible for inspecting electronic and mechanical components, maintaining calibration programs, verifying product conformity, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives throughout the manufacturing process.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a manufacturing environment, strong attention to detail, and knowledge of quality inspection methods, industry standards, and calibration processes.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of materials, components, assemblies, and finished products.
  • Maintain calibration records and calibration pools for inspection, measurement, and test equipment.
  • Work with Quality Assurance Management to prioritize projects and support company objectives and strategic goals.
  • Follow established quality and laboratory procedures while identifying opportunities for process improvements.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and third-party providers to sort, rework, or otherwise disposition nonconforming materials as needed to support production.
  • Perform inspections of electrical components including resistors, capacitors, diodes, integrated circuits, and related electronic devices.
  • Conduct mechanical inspections using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, indicators, height gages, optical comparators, coordinate measuring machines (CMMs), and other inspection tools.
  • Perform in-process inspections of printed wiring assemblies in accordance with IPC-A-610 standards and harness assemblies in accordance with IPC-A-620 standards.
  • Inspect printed wiring boards, paint, glass, chemicals, STC installation kits, and other materials as required.
  • Verify product data packages, identification plates, revision levels, and related documentation during final inspection activities.
  • Perform internal and external calibration activities for mechanical and electrical tools and equipment.
  • Coordinate monthly tool recall activities.
  • Enter and maintain inspection, calibration, and quality data in spreadsheets and databases.
  • Foster positive working relationships with Quality, Purchasing, Engineering, and Operations personnel to support problem solving and product quality initiatives.
Requirements:Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a manufacturing environment; experience in an electronics manufacturing or electronic packaging environment is preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Familiarity with military specifications and industry-standard workmanship requirements.
  • Working knowledge of quality systems and standards including ISO 9001, AS9100, 14 CFR Part 21, Statistical Process Control (SPC), and Total Quality Management (TQM).
  • Working knowledge of J-STD-001 and IPC-A-610 standards.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office and operating in a Windows-based environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in the aerospace, aviation, or defense industry.
  • Experience performing calibration of inspection and test equipment.
  • Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) experience.
  • IPC-A-610 and/or IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification.
