Description
FESCO QC Equipment Inspectors use different NDT methods to test the properties of materials and components to identify faults and conditions.
Qualifications:
  • Skills in math and science are required to analyze results
  • Basic computer skills including Email, Excel and Word
  • Must be eligible to drive a FESCO vehicle and be willing to travel
  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Oilfield experience preferred, but not required
  • Ability to work as a team and create productive relationships
  • The QC Inspector must be able to obtain and maintain a commercial driver's license commensurate with his or her classification and DOT regulations

Responsibilities:
  • FESCO QC Equipment Inspectors examine and test the properties and conditions of materials used in pipe, fittings and vessels to find possible faults such as corrosion, wear, cracks and other imperfections

A QC Equipment Inspector will use a range of methods to test materials and parts, including but not limited to:
  • visual inspection
  • ultrasonic testing
  • dye penetrant testing*
  • magnetic particle testing
  • * not currently used in QC inspections

Physical requirements:
  • Must be capable of lifting 60 pounds of dead weight
  • Meet vision requirements as described in FESCO WP-100 7.1-Vision
  • Must have physical and manual dexterity necessary to perform the job functions
  • Prolonged standing on feet
  • Repetitive stooping, squatting, bending and twisting
  • Strength requirements: exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and / or 10 to 15 pounds frequently, and or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds pounds of force constantly to move objects

Working Hours and Conditions:
Hours are typically 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday, at home district, however some work and travel on weekends may be necessary.
Adherence to FESCO, Ltd. Safety Policies and use of proper personal protection equipment is required at all times. The Quality Control Equipment Inspector will be under the direct supervision of the Equipment Inspection Supervisor.
