Quality Inspection Supervisor

Salary: $95,000/year

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Quality Inspection Supervisor to lead quality inspection and assurance activities within a highly regulated manufacturing environment. Reporting to the Director of Quality Assurance, this position will supervise a team of 10+ direct reports and work closely with Operations, Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, and other departments.

The role is multifunctional and requires strong leadership, quality systems knowledge, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work with both internal teams and external customers and suppliers supporting aerospace-related business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and lead a Quality Inspection team of 10+ employees.
  • Administer internal Corrective and Preventive Action Requests (CAR/PAR).
  • Assist in responding to customer Supplier Corrective and Preventive Action Requests, including failure analysis and root cause analysis.
  • Perform internal audits as part of the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Assist the Quality Manager with quality-related tasks, projects, and initiatives.
  • Support company-wide audits conducted by external certification agencies and customers, including annual AS9100 audits.
  • Assist the Director of Quality Assurance in preparing company-wide quality metrics for management review.
  • Write new and update existing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and quality forms.
  • Train employees on new and updated procedures and forms.
  • Develop and update procurement general and detailed Specification Control Drawings (SCDs) for components used in production.
  • Perform failure analysis on RMA and in-house product failures in collaboration with Engineering.
  • Coordinate outside laboratory testing and analysis as needed.
  • Identify quality issues and implement appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Manufacturing, and other teams to resolve quality issues.
  • Communicate with suppliers and customers regarding quality requirements and corrective actions.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and lead quality-related projects.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a Quality role, with at least 1 year of leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field with relevant work experience, or 5+ years of equivalent/commensurate experience.
  • Experience working in an AS9100 or ISO 9001 environment.
  • Strong understanding of quality management systems, audits, corrective actions, root cause analysis, and failure analysis.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Skills & Experience
  • Knowledge of crystal oscillators or similar microelectronics.
  • Familiarity with MIL-PRF-55310 and MIL-STD-883.
  • Experience with hybrid and/or PCB construction methods.
  • Familiarity with MIL-PRF-38534 and/or IPC-A-610.
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, electronics, or highly regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Experience working directly with customers, suppliers, and external certification organizations.
