Quality Inspector
Electronics Manufacturing / IPC & MIL-STD
Manassas, VA
Pay Estimated: $31.58 - $36.58/Hour

We are hiring a
Senior Quality Inspector to support electronics manufacturing and defense programs by performing inspections on parts, materials, assemblies, and electronic equipment to ensure compliance with IPC, J-STD, and MIL-STD quality standards. This role is ideal for experienced quality professionals with expertise in electronic inspection, ESD control, GD&T, automated test equipment, and defect evaluation within a regulated manufacturing or DoD environment.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect parts, materials, assemblies, and electronic equipment for compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Perform in-process and final inspections to verify workmanship and product conformity.
- Evaluate and document defects while supporting real-time disposition activities.
- Operate and monitor automated electronic and mechanical test equipment during inspection processes.
- Verify corrective actions and rework activities to ensure compliance with quality requirements.
- Prepare and maintain quality assurance documentation, inspection records, and related reports.
- Inspect products using established workmanship standards and industry specifications.
- Utilize mechanical measurement tools and electronic test configurations to validate product quality.
- Support continuous process improvement initiatives and quality system compliance.
Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
- Department of Defense Secret Security Clearance preferred at time of hire.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 6 years of directly related quality inspection experience in electronics manufacturing or a similar technical environment.
- Working knowledge of:
- ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) control
- IPC-A-610
- J-STD-001
- J-STD-002
- MIL-STD-883
- MIL-STD-750
- Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Statistical Process Control (SPC) and quality methodologies
- Experience setting up basic electronic and mechanical test configurations.
- Proficiency using mechanical measurement equipment and inspection tools.
- X-Ray inspection qualification and applicable IPC/J-STD certifications may be required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Electronics, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Current or previous certifications in J-STD-001, J-STD-002, IPC-A-610, MIL-STD-883, MIL-STD-750, or X-Ray inspection.
- Experience supporting defense, aerospace, or high-reliability electronics manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with AI-driven quality improvement or manufacturing process optimization.
