We are seeking a Quality Engineer to strengthen our Bolton production plant.


This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in cross-functional environments and wants to contribute to meaningful, globally relevant projects.

Your core responsibilities include:

  • Primary interface to Customer on all Quality Issues.
  • Control of Line and Warranty Returns in accordance with Customer requirements, ensuring adequate countermeasures are taken to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Monitor and report Quality KPI measures for their relevant section and use to drive improvements in QA performance.
  • Supporting QA Technicians with product investigations and use of relevant equipment.
  • Generation of detailed Quality and Test Stand Work Instructions, and support the Technicians in using them.
  • Control of External and Internal Concession requests, in conjunction with Lead Quality Engineer.
  • Conduct audits and manage Supplier quality issues as required.
  • Completion of all relevant documentation in support of Customer QA requirements (ANPQP/APQP/PPAP).
  • Analysis of process capability data /R&R study data, and working with Production Engineering to improve the production line accordingly.
  • Understand and deploy Customer Specific Requirements and Astemo standards for their products and ensure continual compliance.

Profile and Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of automotive quality standards, particularly IATF 16949, and their practical application.
  • Proficient in APQP methodologies and core quality tools, including Control Plans, Process Flow, FMEA, SPC, and MSA (R&R).
  • Experienced in internal auditing and ensuring compliance with automotive quality requirements.
  • Skilled in structured problem-solving techniques to identify root causes and drive sustainable improvements.
  • HNC / HND Electrical / Mechanical Engineering as a minimum.
  • PC Literate(Word/Excel)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • 5 years' experience in a similar role, ideally gained within automotive. We would consider an electronics, high volume manufacturing assembly background.
  • Liaison with customers.

Salary : 40-50,000 gross annually
