Job description

Daifuku Airport America Corporation is a subsidiary of Daifuku North America a group company of Daifuku in Japan - the largest material handling company in the world. Our advanced systems move everything from car bodies at auto plants to luggage at airports to packaged goods at warehouses. We are known as experts in engineering, manufacturing, and servicing innovative automated materials handling systems including conveyors, automatic guided vehicles, automated storage & retrieval systems, and integrated controls.

The company is currently seeking an experienced Quality Engineer.

The Quality Engineer reports to the Plant Manager. They are responsible for ensuring that manufacturing processes, products, and systems meet internal quality standards. This role supports continuous improvement initiatives by applying quality tools, analyzing data, driving corrective and preventive actions. A Quality Engineer plays a key role in maintaining compliance with applicable quality standards by providing guidance and assistance to manufacturing, field installation, and the Daifuku organization.


  • Identification of processes, electrical, mechanical, and welding
  • Determination of criteria and methods to ensure process operation & control
  • Process improvement resulting in measurable data
  • Problem solving and mistake proofing
  • FMEA (Process & Design)
  • Utilization of Corrective Action System
  • Tooling Management
  • Conduct internal quality audits
  • Compile and provide reports regarding nonconformance/corrective action data
  • Train employees in quality concepts and work instructions
  • Administrate document control procedures for all quality related documents
  • Facilitate internal and participate in third party ISO/QS audits
  • Assist with Statistical Process Control Activities
  • Assist in application of statistical process control techniques and data analysis for:
  • Manufacturing facilities
  • Suppliers
  • Assist with measuring and testing product
  • Measuring techniques
  • Test readiness
  • Documentation of failures, root cause, and corrective action
  • Conduct or assign personnel to perform product/process inspections at vendor site.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of computers, and efficient in Microsoft applications.
  • Excellent communication/presentation skills required.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, QS 9000 and TE supplement
  • Knowledge of statistical tools.
  • Knowledge of data collection techniques.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret statistical data.
  • Knowledge of: FMEA, FTA, DOE, QFD.
  • Ability to use problem solving skills, organization skills, multi-tasking skills, and presentation/training skills.
  • Ability to read and evaluate existing technical and service data.
  • Knowledge of Daifuku operations and products helpful.
