The Quality Technician I's primary responsibilities are the simple evaluation of function of electronic products and the inspection of finished and purchased products, raw materials, and miscellaneous supplies by performing visual, basic dimensional, and documentation inspection per specified procedures or instructions within the framework of the FDA Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and ISO 13485 standards.What you'll be doing
  • Performs routine visual inspection of partially complete, complete, or packaged products per procedure, specification, print, catalog, and/or visual standard.

  • Performs inspection of product per procedure, specification or print using basic measuring equipment (caliper, micrometer, tape, height gage, etc.) and functional testing (measuring current/voltage using multimeter and/or measuring impedance using an impedance analyzer).

  • Performs review of product documentation to verify acceptability per specification and GMP requirements.

  • Evaluates EXOGEN devices returned due to field complaints. Must be able to reason through the analysis to determine the cause of product failure.

  • Completes documentation of inspection results and special studies when required.

  • Uses inventory management software to perform work-in-process, inventory transactions and SPC data collection.

  • Completes documentation using good documentation practices (GDP) and records deviation data in appropriate systems.

  • Performs all related duties as defined by the supervisor.

  • Holds oneself and others accountable to conduct business in a manner compliant with Bioventus' Code of Compliance and Ethics, policies and procedures and internal controls applicable to their role.

  • Other duties as assigned

What you'll bring to the table
  • Associate's degree or two years education from technical school in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, or Electronics Technician. Some experience in a position involving inspecting parts to drawings using measuring instruments (micrometer and calipers) and completion of courses or working knowledge of Algebra and Trigonometry, General Manufacturing Processes, and Quality Control Instruments; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Position will require the use of calipers, micrometers, multimeters, power supplies, and other electronic equipment.

  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Ability to use or learn SAP and other PC programs.

  • Ability to analyze information and assess issues.
