Overview

Utilize established techniques, standards, and tools like computer-aided drafting software to provide routine drafting support and prepare designs and technical drawings to specifications. Coordinate and consult with engineers to complete projects.


Essential Job Duties:

  • Prepare designs and drawings and ensure design drawings adhere to provided specifications with employee, customer, and end-user safety as the basis for all projects.
  • Modify existing designs for custom applications. Generate drawings for manufacturing, foundation construction, and installation using CAD.
  • Maintain and update product designs through product revisions and Engineering Change Orders.
  • Perform development testing and evaluation of designs in preparation for production as well as regulatory submittals.
  • Provide design recommendations to quote non-standard products.
  • Contribute to the development of sales literature, service manuals, and 3D models for demonstration purposes.
  • Provide engineering technical support to manufacturing, quality assurance, and vendors to obtain components.
  • Support compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policy.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications - Required qualifications to effectively perform the job. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered. (Additional requirements may be designated by position.)

  • This position requires a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or;
  • An associate's degree in a related field with 1-3 years of related experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - May be representative, but not all-inclusive, of those knowledge, skills and abilities commonly associated with this position

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products - specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Working knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD and drafting.
  • Proficient in reading and producing engineering drawings using CAD.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD 2D and Inventor (2012 or better) is preferred.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Critical thinker with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work as well as concentrate on multiple tasks simultaneously.

Work Environment - Environmental or atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job.

  • General office conditions, exposed to moderate noise levels.
  • Must be able to don PPE including hearing protection, safety boots, or glasses where required in the on-site manufacturing areas, exposure to loud noises, outdoor conditions, emissions, and dust.
  • Job site visits requiring air/overnight travel may rarely be necessary.
