Summary:

The purpose of this position is to support the Shipping Department by ensuring all outbound orders are picked accurately and meet outbound quality standards before shipment. The Outbound Quality Control Clerk is responsible for verifying product quality, quantities, lot rotation, labeling, and order accuracy while identifying and documenting discrepancies. This role helps reduce shipping errors, improve customer and store satisfaction, and maintain inventory accuracy.

Responsibilities:

  • Verify picked orders against the picking ticket to ensure correct product, quantity, pallet build, and customer/store order accuracy.
  • Perform quality inspections on outbound orders before shipment, including checks for damage and temperature.
  • Ensure products meet customer specifications, company quality standards, and secure pallet configuration.
  • Verify FIFO/FEFO rotation, lot numbers, production dates, and expiration dates.
  • Confirm accuracy of labels, customer tags, pallet labels, and shipping labels.
  • Report picking errors, inventory discrepancies, damaged products, short picks, over picks, or incorrect substitutions to the Shipping Supervisor immediately.
  • Document QC inspection results and maintain accurate quality records, including photographs.
  • Coordinate with Pickers, Team Leads, Shipping Supervisors, Inventory Control, and other internal teams to resolve discrepancies before orders are loaded. Place incorrect or damaged products on hold and verify corrective action is completed before shipment.
  • Conduct random audits of completed orders to monitor picking accuracy and provide feedback.
  • Assist with investigations of customer complaints related to shipping accuracy or product quality.
  • Maintain a clean QC area while following all food safety, HACCP, GMP, and workplace safety procedures.
  • Complete inspections efficiently to achieve high verification accuracy and minimize incorrect shipments.
  • Communicate discrepancies promptly and professionally to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Perform other quality assurance or related duties as assigned by the QC Supervisor, Warehouse Manager, or management.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to accurately count products and verify quantities.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or RF scanners preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, twist, reach, kneel, and squat throughout the shift.

Working Conditions:

  • Comfortable working in refrigerated warehouse environments when required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced shipping environment.
