Position Summary:

This position is accountable for assisting in inventory management, assisting with the implementation and maintenance of the QC Plan, assisting with QC/QA project management, and supporting technical staff.


Required Skills

Key Tasks and Responsibilities                 

  • Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation, utilizing knowledge in engineering fields
  • Plans and directs activities concerned with the development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for industrial processes, materials, and products
  • Devises sampling procedures and designs and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data
  • Establishes program to evaluate precision and accuracy of production equipment and testing, measurement, and analytical equipment and facilities
  • Develops and implements methods and procedures for disposition of discrepant material and devises methods to assess cost and responsibility
  • Directs workers engaged in measuring and testing the product and tabulating data concerning materials, product, or process quality and reliability
  • Compiles and writes training material and conducts training sessions on quality control activities
  • May manage quality control program
  • Inventory management
  • Selecting the best techniques for a given process, determining the level of quality, and taking the appropriate steps to maintain or improve the quality of the process, if necessary
  • Set up practices to monitor and control quality; however, other factors must be considered, such as effectiveness, cost, and productivity
  • Apply substantive expertise during pre-bid, construction, and post-construction phases of a project by working with plants/materials, construction, sales and estimating teams to ensure quality standards and project profitability are achieved.
  • Evaluate proposed courses of action for safety, contract compliance, and profitability and propose alternative courses of action where appropriate
  • Comply with OSHA and MSHA rules and regulations in order to perform duties in a safe manner.
  • Assume additional responsibilities as directed by division and corporate management.  Travel as required to attend, but not limited to, meetings, site visits, training, etc.

Education/Experience    

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field required
  • 3 – 5 years of experience required

Physical Demands

  • Travel will be required to attend training and meetings.
  • Ability to sit or stand for an entire shift
  • Occasionally required to stoop, bend, walk, crouch, and climb.
  • Ability to lift, on a frequent basis, at least 50 pounds.
  • Ability to speak, write, and understand English clearly.

Salary $85-$115k
