Ardurra is seeking an MEP Inspector to join our team supporting ongoing projects in DFW!

Ardurra is a multidisciplinary civil engineering services firm which provides broad-based solutions tailored to the specific needs of the public and private sector. We leverage the depth of our professional and technical expertise, as well as our integrated structure, to deliver practical, innovative solutions for our clients.

This position will provide construction quality assurance inspection, surveillance, and documentation for multiple concurrent projects at DFW International Airport. The Inspector will serve as an on-site technical representative responsible for monitoring contractor construction activities, coordinating with contractor Quality Control (QC) personnel, and verifying that completed work complies with contract documents, approved submittals, applicable codes, standards, and specifications.

This position will focus primarily on mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), and HVAC construction activities within an active airport environment.

Primary Function:

The MEP Construction Inspector will perform field observations and quality assurance inspections of construction activities at DFW International Airport. This position will work closely with contractors, Quality Control personnel, Project Managers, Construction Managers, code inspectors, and other project stakeholders to identify quality issues, document construction progress, and support successful project delivery.

Primary Duties:
  • Perform field inspections of MEP, HVAC, and related construction activities for compliance with contract documents, approved submittals, applicable codes, standards, specifications, and Inspection and Testing Plans
  • Monitor contractor construction activities and site performance to verify work is being completed in accordance with project requirements
  • Inspect materials and installed work for compliance with contract documents, approved submittals, field orders, and applicable specifications
  • Prepare detailed Inspector Daily Reports (IDRs), inspection checklists, progress photographs, and other required project documentation
  • Coordinate daily with contractor Quality Control personnel and assist in monitoring implementation of the Contractor Quality Control (CQC) program
  • Assist with the preparation and resolution of Issues and Nonconformance Reports (NCRs), including monitoring corrective actions through completion
  • Provide technical input and troubleshooting recommendations to Project Management and Construction Management teams regarding field quality issues
  • Coordinate with Quality Control personnel and code inspectors to verify work is complete and ready for required inspections
  • Monitor project schedule activities and identify when planned construction activities are not occurring as scheduled
  • Review applicable codes, standards, specifications, and construction documents to determine inspection requirements
  • Participate in pre-activity meetings, quality meetings, and periodic audits of contractor quality-control activities as required
  • Provide technical expertise related to field construction activities and communicate issues to project leadership in a timely manner
  • Verify applicable worksite compliance requirements within the active airport environment
  • Perform other construction inspection and quality assurance duties as assigned
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field preferred'
  • Minimum of 5+ years of construction inspection or related field construction experience, with experience inspecting MEP and/or HVAC systems
  • Experience with airport/aviation construction preferred
  • Working knowledge of construction quality assurance/quality control procedures, applicable codes, specifications, contract documents, and construction inspection practices
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, approved submittals, and other technical documents
  • Ability to identify construction deficiencies and effectively communicate issues and recommended corrective actions
  • Ability to work independently in an active construction environment and coordinate effectively with contractors, project managers, construction managers, inspectors, and other project stakeholders
  • Must be available to work varying schedules, including nights, weekends, and other shifts as required by project activities
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required credentials and complete applicable airport training requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience inspecting mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fire protection, controls, or other building systems
  • Familiarity with Contractor Quality Control (CQC) programs and construction Quality Assurance procedures
  • Experience with Autodesk and Oracle Primavera Unifier or similar construction management/documentation systems
  • Familiarity with airport operations, airfield construction requirements, and FAR Part 139 requirements
  • OSHA 30-hour safety training
  • Relevant inspection or trade certifications
