QC Technician

The QC Technician supports Hydrite's quality and production operations by performing required quality control analysis of incoming, in-process, and outgoing materials. This role provides timely analytical results and technical support to ensure products meet established specifications and all Quality Assurance and Quality Control procedures are followed.


Primary responsibilities include:

  • Perform required quality control analysis of incoming, manufactured, and outgoing materials with authority to make acceptance, production adjustments, or rejection decisions.
  • Responsible for analysis of samples by pH meter, Viscosity meter, Karl Fischer, Refractometer and FTIR.
  • Perform instrument maintenance, calibrations, quality control checks, solutions preparations, and standardization.
  • Maintain records accurately, neatly, legibly, and completely.
  • Perform daily laboratory activities to help meet production requirements.
  • Assure timely response of material acceptance/rejection decisions.
  • Maintain a clean and neat laboratory at all times, clean glassware.
  • Communicate to manager concerns about laboratory practices, operational problems, quality trends, etc.
  • Perform and complete analysis and projects, as assigned by manager.
  • Promote complete customer satisfaction through quality and service to both external and internal customers.
  • Perform all duties outlined in relevant SOPs and all other duties to be assigned.
  • All staff members are responsible for reporting food safety problems to their manager or SQF Practitioner upon observation of a known or potential issue.
  • Uphold Hydrite's Standard of Excellence through a continuous commitment to maintain quality facilities and provide quality products and services to internal and external customers.

REPORTING STRUCTURE

  • This position reports to the QC Lab Supervisor.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • A High School Diploma is required, Bachelor's or Associate's degree preferred.
  • Must possess good laboratory analytical skills.
  • Able to apply advanced math skills and use involved problem solving.
  • Must be self-motivated and initiate continuous improvement.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks.
  • Must have communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to read, write, and speak English.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and climb stairs for up to 10 hours per day.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring good manual dexterity.
  • Ability to climb ladders as required by job duties.
  • Ability to occasionally turn, twist, stoop, bend, and reach.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including a hard hat, hairnet, and beard net, if applicable.
  • Ability to comply with GMP production area requirements, including restrictions on exposed jewelry in body piercings.
  • Due to safety concerns, the wearing of contact lenses is prohibited where applicable by site or task requirements.

  • Participate in required RCRA, regulatory, health and safety, and process training activities. Review changes or additions with the supervisor and maintain RCRA compliance.

  • Perform all duties outlined in relevant SOPs and complete other duties as assigned.
  • Work with other staff members to maintain workload balance and provide backup support as needed.
  • Support effective communication with all Hydrite departments where responsibilities overlap to support branch team success.
