Position Summary

AAA General Contractors, LLC is seeking an experienced Safety and Quality Control Manager to support commercial, institutional, and government construction projects in Texas and New Mexico.

The Safety and Quality Control Manager will be responsible for implementing and managing project safety programs, quality control programs, inspections, testing coordination, documentation, compliance monitoring, and project closeout requirements. This position serves as the primary point of contact for all quality control and safety-related matters on the project.

This is a full-time, on-site position. The Safety and Quality Control Manager must remain physically present at the project site 100% of the time during active construction operations and may not be assigned to multiple projects simultaneously. The successful candidate will work closely with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, inspectors, testing agencies, and owners to ensure the project is constructed safely, in compliance with contract requirements, and in accordance with approved plans and specifications.

Responsibilities Quality Control Management
  • Develop, implement, and maintain the project Quality Control Program.
  • Review plans, specifications, submittals, RFIs, shop drawings, and contract requirements.
  • Conduct preparatory, initial, and follow-up inspections.
  • Maintain quality control reports, inspection logs, and project records.
  • Track deficiencies and verify corrective actions are completed.
  • Coordinate testing laboratories, special inspections, manufacturer inspections, and third-party testing.
  • Verify all materials and workmanship comply with project requirements.
  • Maintain submittal logs, testing reports, inspection records, and closeout documentation.
  • Assist with preparation and maintenance of as-built drawings.
  • Coordinate project turnover documentation, warranties, and closeout requirements.
Safety Management
  • Implement and maintain project safety programs and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
  • Conduct daily safety inspections and weekly safety meetings.
  • Review and maintain Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs), Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), and safety plans.
  • Verify worker training, certifications, and safety qualifications.
  • Monitor high-risk activities and ensure proper safety controls are in place.
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and safety violations.
  • Prepare incident reports and corrective action plans.
  • Monitor subcontractor compliance with project safety requirements.
  • Identify unsafe conditions and ensure corrective actions are implemented immediately.
Project Documentation and Compliance
  • Maintain complete project quality and safety records.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
  • Track inspections, testing activities, deficiencies, corrective actions, and project metrics.
  • Support project meetings and prepare meeting minutes as required.
  • Maintain records required by contract documents and regulatory agencies.
  • Assist project management with audits, inspections, and compliance requirements.
Site Presence and Oversight
  • Remain on site full-time during all active construction operations.
  • Conduct daily site walks and inspections.
  • Be immediately available to address quality, safety, testing, and inspection issues.
  • Coordinate directly with the Superintendent, Project Manager, subcontractors, inspectors, and testing agencies.
  • Monitor ongoing construction activities and document compliance in real time.
  • Ensure all required reports, inspections, and corrective actions are completed promptly.
Contractor and Subcontractor Oversight
  • Verify subcontractors comply with project quality and safety requirements.
  • Coordinate inspections, testing, and documentation activities.
  • Monitor field operations and document compliance issues.
  • Support project teams in resolving quality and safety concerns.
  • Provide guidance and technical support regarding contract compliance requirements.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of construction quality control, safety management, or related experience.
  • Experience serving as a dedicated Quality Control Manager, Site Safety and Health Officer, Safety Manager, or combined Safety and Quality Control Manager.
  • Experience on commercial or government construction projects preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, contracts, and submittals.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and recordkeeping abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Bluebeam, Procore, and related construction software.
  • Spanish language skills preferred.
