Job description

Quality Technician The Quality Technician supports quality assurance activities in a high-precision manufacturing environment, with a focus on GD&T. This role performs detailed inspections, reviews quality documentation, supports First Article Inspections, and ensures products comply with AS9100 standards and customer requirements. The position offers strong growth potential through quality-based training and a clear career path into roles such as Quality Engineer and Quality Manager or Supervisor. Responsibilities Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of manufactured components to verify conformance to specifications. Review engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and customer requirements to confirm product conformity. Interpret and apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) requirements during inspection activities. Support the preparation and execution of First Article Inspections (FAIs) in accordance with AS9102 standards. Assist in developing and maintaining Quality Inspection Plans and related inspection documentation. Participate in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities and quality planning efforts for new and existing products. Support Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA/FMEA) reviews and contribute to corrective action initiatives. Document nonconformances accurately and assist with root cause investigations and corrective actions. Utilize precision measuring equipment, including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMMs), to perform accurate inspections. Maintain quality records and ensure ongoing compliance with AS9100 and customer-specific quality requirements. Collaborate closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Production teams to resolve quality concerns and drive process improvements. Contribute to continuous improvement efforts and support lean manufacturing initiatives related to quality. Essential Skills At least 2 years of experience in a regulated quality environment. Hands-on experience inspecting CNC-machined components in a production environment. Working knowledge of AS9100 quality standards and their application in manufacturing. Familiarity with First Article Inspection (FAI) processes and documentation, including AS9102 requirements. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings. Strong understanding of APQP, PFMEA, and quality planning methodologies. Proficiency with common inspection tools and equipment, including calipers and micrometers. Experience performing inspection and quality control activities in a manufacturing setting. Solid understanding of GD&T and its application in inspection. Strong attention to detail, documentation accuracy, and record-keeping skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in aerospace, defense, medical device, or precision manufacturing environments. Practical AS9102 First Article Inspection experience. Exposure to CMM operation or programming. Internal auditing or quality systems experience. Experience with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement initiatives. Experience using height gauges and other precision metrology tools. Interest in professional growth through quality-based training courses.
