Laboratory Technician — Austin, TX 


Job Summary


We are looking for a hands-on and detail-driven Quality Control Lab Technician to support our cosmetic manufacturing operations. You will test raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products to ensure they meet our quality standards and regulatory requirements. If you have a passion for chemistry, a sharp eye for detail, and experience in a GMP-regulated lab, we want to hear from you!


Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform wet chemistry and analytical chemistry testing on raw materials, bulk formulations, and finished goods (pH, viscosity, density, moisture content, titrations, etc.)
  • Execute sampling procedures for incoming raw materials, in-process batches, and finished products in accordance with SOPs and sampling plans
  • Perform color matching and visual/instrumental evaluations against approved product standards
  • Help maintain SOPs, calibration logs, and lab cleanliness
  • Troubleshoot instruments and perform preventive maintenance as needed
  • Create, revise, and review SOPs, test methods, forms, and testing-related documents
  • Manage lab supply inventory and ordering
  • Maintain accurate testing records, daily logs, and equipment record books
  • Prepare and ship samples to customers
  • Support cross-functional investigations to identify root causes and propose solutions
  • Ensure all activities comply with GLP/cGMP requirements, safety guidelines, and company policies
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, stoop, and climb for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed
  • Must wear required PPE and uniform


Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a related science field
  • 2–3 years of QC experience in cosmetics or pharmaceuticals
  • Hands-on experience with wet chemistry and standard lab techniques 
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of cGMP / GLP regulations in a manufacturing setting
  • Familiarity with ISO 22716 is a plus
