Job description

Job Title: QC Lab Technician
Location: Fords, NJ
Hours / Schedule: Training - 4 weeks in day shift (anytime between 6:30 and 9 am to end of day), then 2 weeks of evening shift (2 pm to 10 pm) and 2 weeks of night shift (10 pm to 6 am); after training, rotating every 4 weeks between night, evening, and day shifts.
Type: Contract
Compensation: $27.00 - $29.00 per hour
We are seeking candidates with a Chemistry background and who are flexible to working rotating shifts. Recent college graduates will be considered!
Responsibilities
  • Perform wet chemistry and instrumental analysis tasks in a fast-paced environment, including viscosity testing, sediment testing, water determination, flash point, pour point, foam emission, titrations, and other analytical techniques.
  • Accurately record test results in designated workbooks, testing plans, LIMS, and SAP systems.
  • Perform testing on incoming raw materials, in-process samples, and outgoing containers, approving or rejecting as appropriate.
  • Support and comply with safety programs, attend safety meetings, and report unsafe conditions or out-of-spec results immediately.
  • Work independently and multi-task effectively in a busy environment, prioritizing workload.
  • Report test findings and deviations clearly and promptly to management.

Requirements
  • Minimum of 1 year of quality experience preferred; B.S. in Chemistry preferred, or minimum Associate's Degree required, Bachelor's Degree in technical discipline preferred.
  • Experience with viscosity testing, water testing, titration, moisture testing, and petroleum testing is a plus.
  • Able to lift up to 10-15 lbs (solvent cans).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts (day, evening, and night).
