Job description

Job Title: QC Technician II

Job Description:

  • The QC Technician II will play a vital role in ensuring quality control by performing fit-for-purpose testing in support of manufacturing processes.
  • This includes both in-line and finished product release testing using various analytical techniques.
  • The position requires adherence to operating procedures and good documentation practices, and it offers the opportunity to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Perform fit-for-purpose testing following operating procedures in support of manufacturing.
  • Prepare standards and samples for analysis and run instrumentation with minimum supervision.
  • Document and report analytical testing data in LIMS Database and in a laboratory notebook.
  • Assist in out of specification investigations by performing relevant testing and documenting appropriately.
  • Make recommendations to optimize instrumentation methods and provide feedback on non-instrumentation methods.
  • Apply Lean Six Sigma Processes to support continuous improvement activities.
  • Maintain general lab housekeeping.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Supervisor.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Analytical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of industry or relevant market experience, preferably in chemistry or bio/pharmaceutical industry.
  • Hands-on experience with wet chemistry, basic analytical instruments, and chromatography.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Analytical test methods including ACS, USP/NF, EP/BP, JP, FCC.
  • Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) with attention to detail.
  • Problem-solving skills and effective use of Lean methods.
  • Experience in reviewing laboratory notebooks and understanding testing performed with Analytical Chemistry Techniques.
  • Engagement in process improvement initiatives to identify cost savings.

Work Environment

This position operates within a GMP environment and requires working the 2nd shift from 4 PM to 12 AM. The role demands strong adherence to safety and quality standards.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fair Lawn, NJ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $24.00/hr.
