Job description

The shift for this position is Monday-Thursday 6am-6pm. 

JOB SUMMARY: 

Inspects products at various stages of production process and compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products.

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  1. Tests and inspects products at various stages of the production process and compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products.
  2. Records test data, applying statistical quality control procedures.
  3. Inputs test data into the main database.
  4. Evaluates data to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
  5. Recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.
  6. Has authority to hold products due to non-forming properties per Quality Manual.
  7. Complies with all ISO procedures.
  8. Maintains high ethical standards.
  9. Promotes a safe work environment.
  10. Acts proactively to anticipate quality issues and works with the appropriate departments/personnel to prevent defects before they occur.
  11. Analyzes claims and warranty issues.  Issues reports to the Quality Manager, detailing claims.
  12. Interfaces with suppliers on quality aspects related to raw materials.

 ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Keeps area clean at all times.  Applies 5S techniques to workplace.
  • Addresses any other related duties as assigned.

 MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (IMS) RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Improves work processes.
  • Provides input and verifies that documented procedures are adequate and accurate and in support of achievement of the strategy
  • Understands the IMS policy and how it applies.
  • Keeps records and data on pertinent business outcomes.
  • Participates in internal audits.
  • Participates in ongoing process improvement.
  • Participates in external registration and surveillance audits.
  • Directly supports methods and practices of the IMS Process through personal compliance and visible support actions.
  • Supports CSR activities

 DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Six months or more of related experience/training.

 SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Experience with ISO.
  • Experience with quality improvement techniques, technical audit and corrective/preventative action is desired.
  • Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing experience desired.
  • Experience in a web handling environment (roll-to-roll) preferred.

 TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED:

  • Experience with Word, Excel and PowerPoint

 PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 

  • While performing duties of this position, the employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.  The employee is frequently exposed to risk of ultraviolet radiation.  The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and is regularly required to feel materials, to speak with and to listen to others.  The employee is required to stand, sit and walk.  The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 25 pounds unassisted.  Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

 WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Working conditions are normal for a laboratory and a manufacturing environment. This position may require occasional weekend and/or evening work.  Occasional travel may also be required.
