Job description

The primary role of the Quality Control Lab Technician is to ensure consistent food safety and product quality. Help to implement process control systems and preventative actions in the food safety area.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Monitor production line for Good Manufacturing Practices and Cleanliness
  • Perform daily ATP swabs and sanitation inspections
  • Report to and work closely with QA and/or QC Managers
  • Create labels and tags as needed for production hold and release
  • Ability to resolve daily issues and provide information on quality concerns
  • Approve samples, open lab, and perform other duties as assigned
  • Perform duties using effective communication skills
  • Ability to understand SQF, FDA (FSMA), USDA and other regulating agencies compliance as it pertains to preparing, requesting and approving official company documents
  • HACCP monitoring activities
  • Weekly Chemical Titrations
  • Properly document all data and provide timely and effective communication to production supervisors, management and other supervisors
  • Fill in as needed in other areas of the Quality Department as assigned by the supervisor
  • knowledge of Food Safety Practices, Safety Programs and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP).
  • 1 - 2 years of industry experience preferably in a food manufacturing facility
  • Proficient PC skills including Excel and Microsoft Word
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Detailed oriented with the ability to maintain accurate and legible documentation
  • Ability to follow company guidelines and work with peers to achieve the overall goals of the company
  • Flexible Work Schedule
