3rd Shift Quality Control Supervisor - Erlanger, KY
This is a salaried, exempt-level role.
Schedule:
  • Monday to Friday, 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM (Note: shifts begin the evening prior - Monday's shift starts Sunday at 10:00 PM, and Friday's shift starts Thursday at 10:00 PM)
  • Additional hours or days beyond the standard schedule may be required based on business needs

Position Summary:
In this role, you will oversee daily lab operations to ensure testing is performed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards and quality and food safety regulatory requirements. You will supervise Quality Control Technicians and Specialists, review test results, maintain laboratory documentation, and support continuous improvement of quality systems.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Supervise daily QC lab activities, including chemical, physical, and microbiological testing
  • Ensure timely testing of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products
  • Review, verify, and approve lab test results and reports
  • Troubleshoot analytical issues and investigate out-of-specification (OOS) results
  • Ensure compliance with GMP, FDA, ISO, and other applicable regulatory standards
  • Maintain accurate lab records, SOPs, and test methods
  • Support internal and external audits and inspections
  • Ensure proper calibration, validation, and maintenance of lab equipment
  • Train, mentor, and supervise QC lab staff
  • Assign work and manage schedules to meet production and testing demands
  • Conduct performance evaluations and support staff development
  • Enforce lab safety practices and procedures
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains
  • Participate in corrective and preventive action (CAPA) investigations
  • Assist in method development, validation, and transfer activities
  • Collaborate with Production, QA, and other departments

Requirements:
  • A bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, or a related science field, or equivalent experience in a QC laboratory environment
  • A master's degree is preferred
  • 5-7 years of QC lab experience
  • 1-3 years of supervisory or leadership experience required
  • Hands-on experience with relevant analytical techniques (e.g., HPLC, GC, UV, wet chemistry, microbiology)
  • Strong knowledge of quality systems and regulatory requirements
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency with LIMS, PowerBI, AS400, and MS Office
