Job description

Quality Control Technician โ€“ Heavy Civil / Infrastructure Construction

Position Summary:

We are partnering with a nationally recognized, award-winning heavy civil contractor known for delivering complex infrastructure projects across highways, bridges, rail, and transit systems. This family-owned organization has built a strong reputation for safety, quality, and on-time project delivery.

With a collaborative, team-driven culture and a strong backlog of public infrastructure work, the company continues to invest heavily in its people, equipment, and technology while maintaining long-term stability and growth.

We are seeking an experienced Quality Control Technician to support the successful delivery of complex, multi-million-dollar heavy civil and bridge projects from preconstruction through completion.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Champion a safety-first culture and ensure full compliance with all safety policies and procedures
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for project quality, overseeing QA/QC for self-performed and subcontracted work
  • Develop and implement project-specific Quality Control Plans in alignment with contract requirements and industry standards
  • Manage all quality testing, inspections, documentation, and third-party QA/QC services
  • Oversee submittals, RFIs, and document control to ensure timely and accurate project execution
  • Monitor work for compliance with drawings, specifications, and contract requirements
  • Lead quality audits and ensure corrective actions are properly implemented and documented
  • Provide technical input on construction methods, sequencing, and quality processes
  • Coordinate with project teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to maintain quality standards
  • Support project closeout including punch lists, commissioning, and turnover documentation

Qualifications:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 2+ years of experience in a construction quality control role within heavy civil projects (rail/highway preferred)
  • Strong understanding of construction practices, specifications, and QA/QC procedures
  • Experience with project management and documentation systems
  • Ability to obtain NETTCP Quality Assurance Technologist and USACE Construction Quality Manager certifications
  • Valid driverโ€™s license and ability to work in field environments
