Job description

We're seeking a QC Lab Technician who's ready to put your skills to work on projects that matter - and build a career with a company that's building North America.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The position will work closely with QC/manufacturing to maintain the highest level of quality for all products. Role and responsibilities will include collecting and tests concrete and aggregate samples using routine methods and basic arithmetic computations. You will be required to adhere to all local, state, MSHA and environmental regulations as outlined in the Employee Safe Work Guidelines booklet, and any/all rules or information provided by the Company or customer sites.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Perform all responsibilities safely.
  • Collecting aggregate samples.
  • Performing routine testing of aggregate samples (quartering samples, running
    gradations, washes, moistures and picking deleterious).
  • Performing basic concrete QC tests slump, air, temperature, sampling,
    cylinders, unit weight.
  • Testing concrete strength specimens.
  • Assisting in the preparation and testing of laboratory concrete trial batches.
  • Entering data into the aggregate and concrete quality reporting system.
  • Calibrating lab equipment.
  • Performing routine housekeeping of laboratory.
  • Performing all other projects and duties as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Two year technical degree preferred or three years in QC testing of construction materials in lieu of education.
  • Basic computer skills including basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Basic knowledge of statistics.
  • Ability to obtain ACI concrete and aggregate certifications as required.
  • Excellent driving record.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.

Additional Requirements:

  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests
