Job description

Job DescriptionOverview

AtkinsRealis is seeking a Structural Engineer to join our Bridge and Civil Design Team. This is an entry-level position and is based out of Houston, TX.

Your role
  • Assist in the planning, design, and production of bridge and civil engineering drawings, calculations, and technical reports.
  • Support project teams with data collection, analysis, and preparation of design documents, cost estimates, and specifications.
  • Participate in field observations and construction support activities, including shop drawing reviews, progress documentation, and quality control tasks.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to evaluate design alternatives, develop innovative solutions, and ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards.
About you
  • EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
  • EXPERIENCE: 0-2 years of professional experience in structural or civil engineering (internship or co-op experience preferred).
  • SPECIAL SKILLS:
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
    • Familiarity with AutoCAD or MicroStation (preferred).
    • Strong problem-solving and teamwork abilities.
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to perform engineering calculations and support preparation of technical reports.
  • PROFESSIONAL REGISTRATIONS: Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required.
