Job description

Trueline is seeking a Quality Control Manager - Contract professional to support a federal $22 million vertical construction project in the Atlanta area. This assignment is expected to continue through at least February 2027 and offers an experienced federal construction professional the opportunity to take ownership of quality execution on a highly visible USACE project.
What You'll Do as the Quality Control Manager:
  • Lead the project's Contractor Quality Control program in accordance with USACE requirements, contract specifications, approved plans, and applicable federal standards
  • Develop, maintain, and execute the project-specific Quality Control Plan
  • Manage the USACE three-phase quality control process, including preparatory, initial, and follow-up inspections
  • Review plans, specifications, submittals, RFIs, shop drawings, and approved materials before work begins
  • Coordinate testing, inspections, mockups, and required documentation with subcontractors, project leadership, government representatives, and third-party testing agencies
  • Conduct daily field inspections to verify workmanship, materials, and installations meet project requirements
  • Identify quality concerns early and work with the Superintendent, Project Manager, subcontractors, and government representatives to resolve them
  • Maintain accurate daily QC reports, inspection records, testing documentation, deficiency logs, and corrective action records
  • Lead preparatory and initial phase meetings for each definable feature of work
  • Monitor subcontractor performance and verify deficiencies are corrected and properly documented
  • Participate in progress meetings, coordination meetings, and government quality reviews
  • Support project closeout, punch list completion, commissioning, turnover documentation, and final acceptance
  • Promote a proactive quality culture focused on compliance, accountability, and preventing rework

Must-Haves as the Quality Control Manager:
  • 5-6 or more years of construction quality control management experience
  • Successful QC leadership experience on USACE, NAVFAC, Department of Defense, or comparable federal construction projects
  • Vertical construction experience on projects valued between approximately $15 million and $40 million
  • Current Construction Quality Management for Contractors certification, or the ability to meet the project's certification requirements immediately
  • Strong understanding of federal construction documentation, inspections, testing, submittals, and quality control procedures
  • Experience independently managing the three-phase quality control process
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, contract requirements, and technical submittals
  • Strong field presence with the confidence to enforce quality requirements and address nonconforming work
  • Excellent written documentation, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work full time at the project site near Atlanta
  • Ability to satisfy federal installation access requirements

Nice-to-Haves as the Quality Control Manager:
  • Previous experience working on an active Air Force, military, or other secure federal installation
  • Experience with new-build government facilities
  • USACE RMS or comparable federal construction management system experience
  • Experience supporting project commissioning and government turnover
  • Familiarity with EM 385-1-1 and federal jobsite safety requirements
  • Current OSHA 30-hour Construction certification
  • Experience working closely with government quality assurance personnel
  • Local ties to the Atlanta or Marietta, Georgia market
  • Availability to begin immediately
