Basic Job Functions:

The QC inspector's primary duties include verifying and documenting that the finished products are manufactured in compliance with customer specifications and AWS D1.1. The Inspector performs dimensional layout and visual weld inspections on all welds in accordance with the quality inspection procedures. All inspections must be documented on the appropriate inspection forms.

 Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent 

  • 2 years of Welding Experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to achieve ASNT SNT-TC-1A VT Level II or CWI certification.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge and experience with manufacturing steel transmission/distribution monopole structures.

  • Experience in blueprint reading and layout.
  • ASNT SNT-TC-1A UT Shearwave Level II and MT Yoke Level II

  • Experience with galvanizing and coatings inspections.

  • Knowledge and experience with weld inspection to the requirements of AWS D1.1

  • Goal oriented with a drive for continuous improvement.
