Job description

Position Summary: The Produce QC team member will assist in maintaining the highest quality produce, consistent with the longstanding reputation of Chefs Warehouse. We are looking for a candidate with demonstrated experience with fresh produce and a strong background in quality control in the food industry.

What you’ll do:

  • Make informed decisions about produce quality, with consideration for customer experience and shrink %
  • Maintain accurate inventory by conducting daily inventory counts, as well as making accurate and timely inventory adjustments
  • Cull/rework cases in an effort to reduce shrink
  • Communicate effectively with operations, sales, and buying teams
  • Produce reports to share interdepartmentally

About you:

  • 2-4 years experience with food, especially fresh produce
  • 1-2 years warehouse experience
  • Familiarity with food safety protocols
  • Literacy in basic technology, including inventory management systems, Excel spreadsheets, etc.
  • Efficient, with attention to detail
  • Willing to work in temperatures between 37-52 degrees
  • Able to lift 50lbs
  • Outstanding team player
