The QC Receiving Inspector is responsible for inspecting incoming goods to ensure conformance with product specifications as well as checking for irregularities and defects through the use of appropriate measuring and monitoring instruments.
SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Evaluating problems and making initial recommendations for possible corrective action
• Performing receiving inspection on raw materials and production parts
• Accepting or rejecting received goods
• Issuing corrective action requests {CAR's) for on-going/ repetitive material deficiencies
• Preventing nonconforming products from being moved to points of use by identifying and segregating them
• Investigating and recording defective products reported by production
• Investigating and reporting incidents of defective products to production, purchasing and to those responsible for the nonconformity
• Issuing product deficiency reports {PDR) ensuring root cause analysis, follow up and timely completion
• Working in conjunction with the Quality team and Purchasing team on new or changed raw materials
• Maintaining Receiving Inspection Log
• Participating in internal and supplier audits
QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
• High School Diploma and/or equivalent experience
• Working knowledge of measurement devices; calipers, micrometers, comparators etc.
• Experience in quality control in manufacturing environment is an asset
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001
• Ability to read and interpret drawings
• Ability to multi-task
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Fluent speaking in English is preferred
• Proficient in Excel, Word and AS400
