P2 Science is a green chemistry company that develops high-performance specialty ingredients from renewable feed stocks using its proprietary PICEยฎ process. P2โ€™s ingredients serve the personal care and fragrance markets, delivering performance and sustainability to global customers.


As P2 Science continues to expand its ingredient portfolio, we are seeking an Associate Quality Control chemist to support the team located at P2 Science's Naugatuck production facility.


Position Summary - QC Lab Technician

The QC Lab Technician provides analytical support by preparing, testing, and analyzing QC samples.


Work Schedule:

This role operates on a morning shift: 5:30 AM โ€“ 1:30 PM ET, Monday through Friday.

Occasional weekend work may be required based on production needs. As operations scale, additional coverage, and flexibility may be required.


What You'll Do:

  • Prepare, analyze, and evaluate final product and in-process samples and ensuring QC testing is performed according to established company procedures, including Work Instructions and Standing Operation Procedures (SOPs)
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and traceable documentation for all analytical testing and laboratory activities.
  • Collaborate closely with Lead QC Chemist to support lab operations, maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform calibration and verification of laboratory instruments and equipment records.
  • Maintain and organize chemical inventories, laboratory supplies, and equipment records.
  • Complete all required internal and external training programs within established
  • Maintain detailed, accurate, and compliant laboratory notebooks in accordance with ISO and cGMP.


Safety Responsibilities:

  • Comply with all company safety policies and OSHA regulations
  • Follow proper handling, storage, and disposal procedures for chemicals and laboratory waste
  • Adhere to ISO 9001:2015 and Food Safety 22000 standards, as well as all internal safety requirements


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Analytical skills (preferred, but not required): GC, HPLC, DSC, Viscometer, Refractometer, Tensiometer, UV-Vis, IR, Karl Fischer, Titrator, pH meter, balances.
  • Microsoft word, excel, outlook
  • Good oral and written communication skills, detail oriented, capable of multi-tasking
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Willingness to work occasional overtime or weekends as needed


Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma is required.
  • Entry level candidates encouraged to apply.
