Job Summary

The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for providing technical expertise in support of construction activities including inspection and monitoring services. This position supports the Operations team and works with other team members, senior management, and 3rd parties.


Responsibilities
  • Monitor activities of 3rd party construction company to ensure no damage occurs to the pipeline, and pipeline facilities.
  • Complete inspection reports stating the conditions of a work area to ensure requirements are met.
  • Deviations from specifications are to be reported in real-time as they are encountered.
  • Ensure materials used are as specified.
  • Complete required daily inspection forms and upload/transmit daily.
  • Coordinate with Chief Inspector to ensure all work being performed is inspected.
  • Complete documentation necessary to attest to satisfactory completion of inspection or test activities.
  • Collect information for as-built drawings, and modification to existing mapping systems. Including photographic documentation, GPS coordinates, distance/depth measurements.
  • Ensure AC mitigation system is being installed per specifications.

  • Ability to think creatively, highly-driven and self-motivated.

  • Ability to work in a fast paced, high volume work environment.
  • Ability to read and understand maps, drawings, and diagrams for project build process.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and maintain a calm and effective demeanor in all circumstances.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work 6-10 hour days, Monday through Saturday, in field conditions.

Major categories of relevant experience:

  • Installation of underground utilities (pipeline).
  • Installation of AC mitigation systems.
  • Construction supervision experience.
  • Locating underground utilities.
  • Familiarity with Operator Qualification (OQ) process.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

This position may require significant time standing or walking on uneven ground, possible climbing of ladders or being in high places, working in tight spaces, lifting up to 50 pounds, and, in general, being overall physically demanding. It may also require work in an all-weather environment.
