An established and highly respected mechanical construction and engineering specialist is seeking a Quality Control Engineer to support the delivery of complex data center and mission-critical projects. Client Details This Mechanical contractor helps support general contractors on large data center projects across the U.S. This construction firm has had a market presence in the mechanical construction industry for over 50 years and continuing to expand and serve many commercial, industrial, mission critical and healthcare construction projects. Description The Quality Control Engineer will report into the Quality Control leadership team and play a critical role in ensuring mechanical systems, piping installations, welding activities, and HVAC infrastructure meet project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. Perform inspections of mechanical systems, piping installations, fabrication activities, and equipment to verify quality and compliance. Review drawings, specifications, weld procedures, and inspection documentation. Conduct dimensional checks, material verification, and quality audits throughout fabrication and installation phases. Document deficiencies, non-conformances, and corrective actions while maintaining accurate quality records. Coordinate with project management, field operations, fabrication teams, subcontractors, and third-party inspectors. Monitor compliance with applicable construction codes, contract requirements, and safety standards. Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance quality processes and inspection procedures. Profile For the Quality Control Engineer we are seeking: Proven experience in quality control, quality assurance, or construction inspection within mechanical contracting, HVAC, piping, plumbing, or industrial construction environments. Strong understanding of construction drawings, piping isometrics, weld inspection requirements, and mechanical system installations. Knowledge of applicable construction codes, standards, and regulatory requirements. AWS Certified Welding Inspector certification or equivalent quality certification is advantageous. Experience utilizing Procore, Bluebeam, Trimble, Adobe Acrobat, and Microsoft Office applications. Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify deficiencies and recommend corrective actions. Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across project teams. Self-motivated professional capable of working independently while contributing to a team-oriented culture.
