Nyco Products – Lab Technician/QC Chemist

You notice the particulars others don’t. Nyco Products is on the hunt for a Lab Technician/QC Chemist who refuses to settle for good enough. The individual that will join our fast paced team has no issues with accuracy and accountability because you hold yourself to high standards and expect the same from others.

At Nyco Products, the Lab Technician/QC Chemist is a very important position. Constantly on the move, you’ll be responsible for assisting with research, quantitative and qualitative analysis, synthesis, and experimentation on substances for the purpose of quality control, product and process development and application.   If it looks wrong, it probably is. If the product doesn’t match the work order, you’re on the phone. If safety and security are sacrificed, you’re solving the problem. If it’s messy, you have it cleaned up. If it’s not square, it’s not right, and you won’t stop until it is.

We’re looking for the perfect Lab Technician/QC Chemist who spends each day challenging yourself and others around you. Because at the end of the day, your name is on your work, and you stand behind it because you know you’ve done your best and won’t settle for anything less.

Lab Technician/QC Chemist  Essential Responsibilities:

  • Perform testing on production batches, raw materials, and competitive products using the following tests: pH, viscosity, density, solids, titrations, degree Baume, flash point.
  • Manage database for sample, production retains and documentation from production.
  • Provide support to the manufacturing processes by giving guidance to adjust batch formulations if a batch is not within product specifications.
  • Prepares certificates of analysis for customers upon request
  • Calibrate and maintain lab instruments and operations equipment to known standards.
  • Prepare sample batches for customers and sales team.
  • Perform stability testing on laboratory and manufacturing samples.
  • Communicate with outside laboratories for external tests.
  • Serves as a resource for correct product label confirmation.

Lab Technician/QC Chemist Qualifications:

  • Associate degree with an emphasis in Chemistry; or one to two years related experience and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university is preferrable.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals as well as write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume and basic algebra and geometry.
  • Perform basic analytical and wet chemistry tests.
