This position will be on-site near USA Parkway in Reno.
Job Overview:
The QA/QC Manager plays a critical role in upholding and enhancing the standards of our products and services. Your responsibilities encompass overseeing and implementing quality control processes throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities and Essential Tasks:
Quality Assurance Oversight:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive quality control plans for electrical data center projects.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure adherence to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal specifications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish and maintain a culture of quality excellence.

Supplier and Contractor Management:
  • Evaluate and qualify suppliers and contractors to ensure they meet quality and performance standards.
  • Conduct supplier audits and inspections to verify compliance with project specifications.
  • Work closely with procurement teams to address quality-related issues and implement corrective actions.

Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate records of quality control activities, including inspection reports, non-conformance reports, and corrective action plans.
  • Prepare and present regular reports to senior management detailing project quality performance and areas for improvement.

Continuous Improvement:
  • Lead root cause analysis investigations for quality incidents and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the development and implementation of best practices.

Training and Development:
  • Develop and deliver training programs to ensure all project personnel understand and adhere to quality control processes.
  • Stay abreast of industry advancements and changes in standards, and provide training to the team as necessary.

Regulatory Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with relevant local, state, and federal regulations, as well as industry standards and best practices.
  • Work closely with regulatory agencies during inspections and approvals.

Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance:
  • Collaborate with health and safety teams to integrate quality control processes with safety protocols.
  • Monitor and enforce environmental and safety compliance within the project site.

Compensation:
Rex Moore pays hourly/salary rates commensurate with each employee's knowledge, experience and skill level.
Work environment:
  • Quality Control Managers typically work onsite with occasional visits to the office.
  • Active commercial jobsite under construction performing the following:
  • Wearing of personal protective equipment (PPE), always including a hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, work boots and high viz vest/ shirt
  • Working around energized equipment
  • Working days, night, weekends, and overtime as required
  • Willing and able to work in confined and/or small spaces
  • Constant collaboration with fellow team members
  • This role requires working in all elements, depending on job location, time of year, heat, cold, rain & snow

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Proven experience in quality control/assurance within the electrical construction industry.
  • 4+ years in hands on electrical field or project engineering work.
  • Strong understanding of solar project construction processes and standards.
  • Strong computer skills and experience with basic computer programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Microsoft AX, Microsoft Project, etc.)
  • Proven experience in quality control/assurance within the utility-scale solar industry.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and certifications (ISO, IEC, NEC, etc.).
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Certification in Quality Management (e.g., ASQ Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence) is a preferred.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to verbally communicate: convey detailed and accurate instructions and information.
  • Ability to hear with or without correction in order to receive and interpret detailed information.
  • Required to sit at a desk work station for long periods of time.
  • Push, pull, lift, and carry at least 10 pounds.
  • Frequently required to walk and stand. This position may involve infrequent site visits which will require the ability to walk on uneven surfaces, climb stairs and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Required to have visual acuity with or without correction in order to read contract documents, analyze data, view a computer monitor, and proof-read documents to identify errors.
  • Required to use fingers and hands: type using a computer keyboard, handle, feel, and reach.
  • May occasionally be required to stoop, kneel, and crouch.
