3rd Shift Quality Assurance Coordinator
Hours -12am-8am
The Quality Assurance Coordinator is primarily responsible for ensuring that all products produced in and shipped from our facilities are done so according to food safety and quality standards. They also ensure coordination and communication between the production and quality departments on their shift.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure & Monitor Production Quality:
  • Check Machines for correct product in bags
  • Check bag codes & labels
  • Check that correct cello is used
  • Check for correct BIP in bag
  • Ensure the correct bag weight
  • Inform production and warehouse management when products are out of compliance and take the necessary steps to make sure product is placed on HOLD for further evaluation.

Monitor & Audit Production Standards
  • Work with QA technicians on monitoring quality levels (for example, seasoning readings)
  • Monitor proper registration and seals on packaging.
  • Verify equipment setup is correct (seal checkers, seasoning programs, etc.)
  • Make sure metal detectors are working according to procedures

Audit & Control
  • Audit product samples
  • Ensure correct swabbing is done between Allergens
  • Ensure machines and lines are properly cleaned.

Communication & Training
  • Train employees on quality practices
  • Ensure employees understand product standards
  • Complete metal detector verifications with production operators
  • Communicate Quality Holds to production and Management

Ensure & Monitor
  • Ensure monthly swabbing is done on every machine
  • Inspect all production areas weekly for non-conformance & document findings
  • Carry out inspections to ensure food safety standards are maintained plant wide

Required Education/Experience/Specific-job-related skills:
  • Associate Degree in Food Science or Science related degree preferred
  • 2 years working in food processing or quality control.
  • 1 year of experience in food manufacturing preferred
  • Working knowledge of Food Safety Standards, HACCP, Kosher, and GMP.
  • Strong computer use / knowledge of Microsoft (Excel, Word)
  • Effective written, verbal and interpersonal skills
  • Physically be able to navigate throughout plant / industrial environment without impediment
