Job description

Job Title: Quality Technician 2  

Job Summary: 

The Quality Control Technician 2 is responsible for many duties within the quality department including but not limited to floor auditing, CMM operation, gage control, dock audits, assisting in sort operations, etc. The Quality Control Technician 2 assists in performing gage R&R studies, gage calibrations, various studies, data collection and overseeing sort operations. 

Responsibility: 

  • CMM Program Modifications/Programming, daily calibration and maintenance 

  • Maintenance of Gage Trak System for gages 

  • Gage calibrations and Control of Gage Certifications 

  • Assist in gauge R&R Studies 

  • Floor auditing of parts/Audit Gage tables 

  • Assist in capability studies 

  • Assist/manage sorts (tagging, material movement, training, monitoring, writing alerts/purges, etc) 

  • Perform LPA audits, report results 

  • Daily scrap disposition and scrap as instructed 

  • Weekly/monthly scrap reports as instructed 

  • Daily purge/alert report 

  • MRB maintenance - daily counts and report out 

  • Posting of information to floor information boards 

  • Balloon prints, Dimensional Inspection Report, Annual part Lay-Outs 

Academic/Educational Requirements: 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent 

Required Skills/Experience: 

  • At least three years' experience as a CMM Operator 

  • Five years' experience in an automotive manufacturing environment. 

  • Prior experience with SPC, LPAs, gauges, and micrometers.
