The QA/SW Developer will combine software development and quality assurance expertise to ensure Fisher Dynamics' custom ERP platform is robust, reliable, and production-ready. This position will write automated tests, conduct quality assurance reviews, and develop testing frameworks while also contributing code to the ERP platform itself. They will also bridge the gap between development and quality, ensuring that code quality, test coverage, and system reliability are built into the platform from day one. They will also collaborate with SW engineers, ML/AI engineers, and the architecture team to deliver a high-quality, AI-native ERP system that meets enterprise standards.

Candidates MUST be local to the Metro Detroit Area. Relocation is not available.

  • Automated Testing & Quality Assurance
    • Design and develop comprehensive automated test suites for ERP modules: unit tests, integration tests, functional tests, and performance tests.
    • Build testing frameworks and CI/CD-integrated test pipelines that validate code quality and system behavior.
    • Conduct manual testing of ERP features, business logic, and user workflows; document and track defects.
    • Perform regression testing, load testing, and stress testing to ensure platform stability and performance.
    • Test AI-integrated features: validate model outputs, test inference APIs, and ensure AI recommendations are accurate and reliable.
  • Software Development & Implementation
    • Develop backend code and utility services that support ERP platform functionality and testing infrastructure.
    • Implement test automation frameworks, mock services, and testing utilities in Python, Java, or similar languages.
    • Build data seeding and test data management tools for efficient test execution.
    • Contribute to feature development where testing expertise enhances code quality and reliability.
    • Write clean, well-documented code that follows established standards and design patterns.
  • Test Strategy & Quality Metrics

Education

Experience

3-5 years of professional QA automation and/or software development experience.

Demonstrated experience with test automation frameworks, automated testing at scale, and CI/CD pipelines required.

Experience with ERP, enterprise systems, or complex backend testing strongly preferred.

Skills

Advanced proficiency in backend languages (Python, Java, C++, Go) and testing frameworks.

Expert knowledge of test automation tools and frameworks (Selenium, Pytest, TestNG, JUnit, etc.).

Strong SQL and database testing knowledge; ability to validate data integrity.

Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions) and automated test pipeline integration.

API testing expertise (REST, GraphQL); experience with tools like Postman, REST Assured.

Load and performance testing experience with tools like JMeter, Locust, or similar.

Strong understanding of software development practices, SDLC, and testing methodologies.

Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerized testing environments.

Knowledge of distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven architectures.

Experience testing AI/ML model outputs and inference APIs is preferred.

Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.
