Quality Assurance Associate

 NATURE OF WORK

Performs professional, technical, and office work in quality assurance and safety/loss prevention. The Quality Assurance Associate is responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and coordinating a quality assurance, safety, and accident prevention program in accordance with company standards. In this role, you will conduct periodic inspections of client sites and the equipment to ensure the quality of the work and safety standards are met according to contracted stipulations. This role prepares reports, detailed findings and recommendations for quality and accident prevention purposes, liability claims review, and investigation of accidents. We believe in continuous learning for our staff, and you will provide educational training for employees and supervisors to prevent quality shortfalls as well as on-the-job injuries.

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Performs inspections of contracted facilities, buildings, and equipment; prepares written reports of field quality inspections and unsafe conditions; conducts accident investigations (worker's compensation)
  • Interprets and implements quality assurance standards.
  • Performs quality-assurance functions to accomplish business coordination, monitoring, and reporting of quality-assurance studies
  • Strong leadership capabilities to lead projects to successful completion
  • Basic knowledge of applicable software to infer statistical data
  • Familiarity with the tools, concepts, and methodologies of quality management
  •  Participates in educational quality assurance and safety training; conducts new employee safety orientation segment, recommends safe job practices 
  • Works along with the Director of Human Resources to create and analyze safety programs and writes policies and procedures for compliance with city, state, and federal OSHA laws, and internal quality assurance policies and procedures
  • Responsible for continual improvement activities to enhance the quality system
  • Analyze failure, corrective, and preventive action to respond to customer complaints
  • Maintains current and accurate records of all relevant communications, audits, corrective action plans, and effectiveness monitoring
  • Completes liability, auto and property claims reports
  • Conducts initial liability claims investigations when needed
  • Performs other related work as required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Considerable knowledge of loss prevention practices, procedures and techniques used in varied employment situations and equipment operations
  • Considerable knowledge of standard safety equipment and safe driving methods applicable to varied types of vehicle operations and work areas
  • Some knowledge of risk management and claims investigation
  • Observe safety regulations, wear all required safety equipment, encourage safe working practices, correct obvious hazards immediately or reports them to supervisors
  • Ability to conduct QA and Safety audits, including closing out audit findings, creating audits finding reports and determine proper corrective and preventive actions
  • Ability to develop QA plans and other required process control procedures to ensure processes, work in progress and finished goods meet the specified quality standards.
  • Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing, to groups and individuals
  • Ability to implement and enforce loss prevention policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Ability to develop and conduct educational programs and instructional training sessions to reduce work related injuries
  • Ability to analyze vehicular and industrial accidents and make effective recommendations to prevent recurrence
  • Ability to carry out complex oral and written instructions
  • Ability to deal effectively and persuasively with employees, supervisors, site managers, vendors, and the executive team both verbally and in writing

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Considerable experience in safety and loss control programs, including industrial and vehicular accident prevention programs
  • Bi-lingual in English and Spanish
  • Valid Florida Driver’s license
  • Experience handling insurance claims also helpful

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Must have the use of sensory skills to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public using the telephone and personal contact
  • Physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office related equipment, such as, but not limited to, computer, calculator, copier, and fax machine
  • No significant standing, walking, moving, climbing, carrying, bending, or kneeling
  • Some reaching, sitting, standing, pushing, pulling, crawling, and handling
  • Must be able to access a variety of work sites for inspection

SUPERVISION RECEIVED

  • General supervision is received from a professional supervisor who confers on difficult problems and reviews completed work for quality of professional results. Tasks are usually performed under little direct supervision allowing use of independent judgment
