Job description

Overview Salary range: $185,000 - $200,000 (depending on experience). Location: Manhattan, NY. Position: QA/QC Manager for the Manhattan Jail Project. Responsibilities Develop and revise the Quality Management Plan based on lessons learned and improve the Quality Management Process. Review incoming, in-process, and final inspections, as well as calibration records, and provide training. Conduct internal and external audits of construction entities and subcontractors. Schedule and provide training for the Preparation Phase. Perform QA for all inspection and test activities, attend and verify tests to ensure material compliance with plans and specifications. Execute and oversee contract document requirements. Perform quality oversight on all subcontractors by reviewing Subcontractor Quality Management Plans/Quality Control Plans and agreements with subconsultants. Monitor subconsultant performance and compliance with the contract. Ensure adequate resources (QC Team) are available. General QC administration, staffing and supervision. Coordinate QC testing with subconsultants such as material testing labs and commissioning agents/system integrators. Recommend and communicate with DOR for problem solution and verification of corrective actions. Develop and implement corrective measures for noncompliance. Verify corrective actions. Maintain QC records in accordance with the QMP. Ensure subcontractors perform inspections for all construction materials for compliance with approvals. Adhere strictly to company safety policies and programs. Perform primary QA/QC inspections in conformance with project contract drawings and specifications. Attend all jobsites and prepare documentation for quality meetings. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Management or similar from an accredited institution. 10 or more years of experience in heavy civil construction testing, inspection, supervision, or management supporting large public works projects. 5 or more years as a supervisor or manager of construction quality control teams. Experience with contract specifications as they apply to quality control teams. Experience with MS Office. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
