Job description

Ernest-Spencer is seeking a Quality Control Inspector. Must have 5 years' experience in sheet metal fabrication. And be able to perform inspections and testing duties to insure that shipped products fulfill all customer specifications and quality requirements. Position will work in a team environment to achieve department goals in productivity, safety, and continuous improvement at our Meriden Plant. 1st shift position.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:
  • Communicate with production team members and management to help identify and correct non-conformances.
  • Conduct inspections at First Article, in-process, in-coming and completes the final inspections.
  • Initiate Non-Conformance reports as required.
  • Document and report inspection findings and result and monitors corrective actions to inspection findings.
  • Perform accurate mechanical, physical and visual inspection of raw materials, components, and sub-assemblies as per Inspection Plans and Specification Requirements.
  • Calibrate inspection equipment, if required using written calibration instructions.
  • Perform product identification and traceability activities, as required.
  • Work with company personnel to resolve inspection questions.
  • Communicate with customer service representatives to ensure compliance with the final product, if required.
  • Conduct various tests and quality checks on finished products.
  • Ensure that all products have been tested and fall within standards, measured to specifications and within tolerances, readability of labels, etc.
  • Other duties may be assigned
