Job description

Construction Manager - Quality Control | CSLA

Build Your Legacy:

At Legacy Professional Services, we believe successful projects start with exceptional people.

Across the country, owners, contractors, utilities, and public agencies trust us to deliver complex infrastructure, construction, energy, and mission-critical projects. Whether supporting a major capital improvement program, a hyperscale data center, an energy initiative, or critical community infrastructure, our work helps create the systems and facilities people rely on every day. We are an integral part of the teams that deliver projects.

Our professionals bring expertise in construction management, program management, project controls, quality assurance and quality control, commissioning support, asset management, workforce solutions, and energy programs. Together, we help clients solve challenges, improve performance, and achieve successful outcomes.

As our company continues to grow, we're looking for talented professionals who are ready to make an impact, build meaningful careers, and help shape the future of Legacy.

The Opportunity:

Legacy Professional Services is seeking a Construction Manager - Quality Control | CSLA to lead quality assurance and quality control activities for Civil, Structural, Landscape, and Architectural (CSLA) scopes on hyperscale data center construction projects.

In this role, you'll work closely with project leadership, superintendents, design teams, subcontractors, client representatives, QA/QC teams, and other construction disciplines to ensure CSLA work is completed in accordance with contract documents, approved submittals, applicable codes, industry standards, and hyperscale owner requirements.

Your oversight will span critical building and site scopes, including site development, underground utilities, concrete and structural systems, building envelope, architectural finishes, and related site improvements. You'll help identify quality issues early, coordinate corrective actions, and ensure work is complete and ready to support subsequent MEP installation, commissioning, and owner turnover.

This position is ideal for an experienced construction quality professional with a strong civil, structural, and/or architectural background who understands the demanding quality requirements of large-scale, fast-track construction projects.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead quality assurance and quality control activities for Civil, Structural, Landscape, and Architectural scopes throughout construction.
  • Perform and document field inspections to verify compliance with contract documents, approved submittals, applicable codes, owner standards, and project quality requirements.
  • Review CSLA drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, material approvals, and installation methods to identify quality requirements and potential conflicts.
  • Monitor site and civil work, including grading, earthwork, underground utilities, drainage, paving, site concrete, and other infrastructure activities.
  • Oversee quality activities related to foundations, structural concrete, structural steel, equipment pads, embeds, anchorage, and other structural components.
  • Monitor architectural construction, including building envelope, roofing, waterproofing, doors and hardware, interior construction, finishes, and related systems.
  • Coordinate required inspections, testing, mock-ups, and special inspections with subcontractors, testing agencies, inspectors, design teams, and client representatives.
  • Identify, document, track, and verify resolution of deficiencies, punch-list items, and nonconforming work.
  • Coordinate CSLA quality activities with MEP, Connectivity, Commissioning, and other project teams to ensure interfaces between disciplines are properly constructed and ready for subsequent work.
  • Maintain Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), inspection reports, test documentation, deficiency logs, corrective action records, and turnover documentation.
  • Monitor recurring quality issues and trends and work with project teams and subcontractors to implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Utilize Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud/BIM 360, Bluebeam, and other construction management platforms to manage quality documentation and reporting.
  • Support project closeout by verifying CSLA scopes are complete, documented, inspected, and ready for owner turnover.

Requirements

What We're Looking For:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architecture, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Five or more years of experience in construction quality control, field engineering, construction management, or field supervision on large-scale construction projects.
  • Experience with civil, structural, and/or architectural construction scopes.
  • Strong understanding of construction means and methods, inspection practices, quality management, and applicable building codes and standards.
  • Experience reviewing civil, structural, and architectural drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Experience performing field inspections, documenting deficiencies, managing nonconforming work, and coordinating corrective actions.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with contractors, design teams, testing agencies, inspectors, client representatives, and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Strong communication, organizational, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software such as Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud/BIM 360, and Bluebeam.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting hyperscale data center, mission-critical, advanced manufacturing, semiconductor, industrial, or other large-scale construction projects.
  • Experience providing QA/QC oversight across multiple CSLA disciplines.
  • Experience with site development, underground utilities, concrete, structural steel, building envelope, roofing, waterproofing, and architectural construction.
  • Familiarity with special inspections, material testing, concrete testing, soil compaction testing, weld inspections, and other CSLA-related testing and inspection processes.
  • Familiarity with hyperscale owner quality standards and fast-track construction environments.
  • Experience coordinating CSLA construction with MEP systems, equipment installation, commissioning requirements, and phased turnover.
  • Experience with project closeout, punch-list management, as-built documentation, and owner turnover.
