Job Summary:
The QA Lead is responsible for coordinating and overseeing QA execution for assigned projects. This role performs most of its time reviewing, vetting, and processing bug reports from the full QA team, delegating tasks, and ensuring project remains on schedule and meets quality standards. The QA Lead may also conduct limited compliance testing to ensure software meets regulatory and performance requirements.

This position may be required to assist with editing work, collecting marketing assets, and support additional localization work as required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the creation, execution, and maintenance of test plans to support submission of titles to first-party platforms free of functional, grammatical, and graphical defects.
  • Conduct English Localization testing across a wide variety of game titles.
  • Compile QA status updates and consolidated project reports from internal teams and external vendors.
  • Identify and communicate potential risks to project schedules.
  • Review, vet, and regression-test defect reports submitted by QA team members to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Attend project meetings and provide regular status updates and completed end-of-pass reports to stakeholders as needed.
  • Attend and actively contribute to project meetings as a QA Lead.
  • Other responsibilities are performed as assigned or needed. 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Working in-office is an essential function of this position. This requirement of face-to-face interaction is in place to ensure effective supervision, collaboration, and teamwork.  In-office attendance is required for the following reasons:
    • For effective supervision of employees and our work product, which includes ensuring all employees have necessary oversight of their work and access to supervisory assistance, which includes meetings to review work product, deadlines, and status.
    • To foster communication and collaboration among team members, which includes the following: allowing for spontaneous brainstorming sessions and exchanges of ideas, quick access to team members to enable collaborative problem-solving, and stronger cohesion among co-workers and within teams.
    • To enhance the sharing of information necessary to effective job performance and product creation. 
    • To enhance understanding of our stakeholders’ work and business needs, facilitate a more seamless and organic workflow, and ultimately increase efficiency and successful outcomes.
  • 3+ years of Quality Assurance experience with at least 1 year of experience as a Team Lead.
  • Experience with supporting and managing QA project schedules.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Moderate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Bonus:

  • Experience coordinating work with external vendors.
  • Experience testing pre-release or live games.
  • Exposure to localization testing or text editing.
  • Background in game asset or footage capture.
  • Familiarity with compliance or first-party QA testing.
