G&A Partners' client is currently seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to join its team in Ogden, UT.

Summary

The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the organization's quality assurance programs while developing and implementing quality control policies that ensure the effectiveness and consistency of production operations. This role oversees ISO 9001 compliance, manages internal and external audits, and maintains DNV certification to ensure adherence to established quality standards.

The organization is currently certified to the ISO 9001 Quality Management System standard and is committed to advancing its Quality Management System to AS9100 certification. The successful candidate will provide the leadership, expertise, and strategic direction necessary to achieve and maintain AS9100 certification while fostering a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization.

This position reports directly to the President and General Manager.

Responsibilities
  • Provide feedback and interpretation to production management and staff based on resin quality control test results.
  • Halt production in the event of serious product defects.
  • Oversee the implementation and upkeep of ISO standards, ensuring alignment with ISO requirements in processes, procedures, and documentation.
  • Possess ability to learn and/or develop skills and knowledge to lead the advancement to TCR's quality system from the ISO 9001 to the AS 9100 standard.
  • Communicate quality control information to all relevant organizational departments, external vendors, and contractors.
  • Provide staff training on quality control, analytical procedures, standards, and best practices.
  • Generate reports on product or process nonconformance, daily production quality, root cause analyses, and quality trends.
  • Develop, implement, and update inspection and testing criteria and procedures.
  • Supervise workers involved in testing activities, including supervisors, inspectors, and laboratory workers.
  • Review and update standard operating procedures and quality assurance manuals.
  • Ensure compliance with established testing and inspection standards for raw materials, purchased parts, components, in-process samples, and finished products.
  • Direct the tracking of defects, test results, and other regularly reported quality control data.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to address customer concerns and feedback regarding product quality.
  • Coordinate the selection, implementation, calibration, and documentation of quality control equipment, such as inspection gauges, and QA/R&D lab equipment.
Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree is required. Preferred fields of study include Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Materials Science and Engineering. Candidates with bachelor's degrees in other STEM disciplines will also be considered if they have completed a minor in Chemistry.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in a regulated manufacturing industry is required, with aerospace or composites industry experience strongly preferred. At least two of the required five years must have been in a supervisory or management role, preferably with responsibility for quality assurance or quality management.
  • Strong understanding of quality management systems or excellent capabilities and drive to quickly familiarize with ISO 9001 and AS 9100 standards.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in data analysis and quality management tools.
  • High degree of accuracy in work
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook for efficient email communication, meeting setup, calendaring, Excel for data analysis, Word for document creation.
